Dear ABC
Friends,
I have good
news and then even better news. In
short, it's official: Reston has voted YES.
First, we obtained a valid quorum. The
number of valid votes was 7,051, for a turnout
of 41.3 percent of the households eligible to
vote, surpassing the 40 percent threshold
requirement.
Second, we received over a 70 percent approval
for each of the questions on the referendum.
Since only 67 percent was required for
passage, each document has been approved by
the membership.
Once again, thanks to all of you for your dedication,
support, and commitment through this very
lengthy and sometimes (often?)
contentious process. We did the right
thing for Reston, and I am overwhelming pleased
that Reston agrees.
Please do
not hesitate to inform me if you have any
questions.
Thank you
again, and may all of you have a very restful
and enjoyable weekend.
Lots of
Cheers From Someone Who Can Finally Sleep at
Night,
Jenn
